Every day, children in Broward and Palm Beach Counties are removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, and abandonment. We believe that every child deserves a safe and loving place to call home. The KID Supported Foster Care Program provides short and long term placements for children while their birth family works towards their goal of reunification.
To be eligible to become a foster parent, you:
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older and be in good health
- Must meet your county’s home safety requirements, have sufficient bedrooms, and reliable transportation
- Must demonstrate emotional and financial stability; be able to pass background screening requirements; be willing to work with social workers, case workers, other professionals and the child’s biological family
- Must be willing to attend a 21 hour foster parent training class (currently held via Zoom)
