The New River will once again flood with thousands of rubber ducks wearing sunglasses for the 9th Annual KID Duck Fest Derby, presented by JM Family Enterprises Inc. Benefitting Kids In Distress of Broward and Palm Beach counties (KID), the free family event is set for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 28 at Esplanade Park. Community members can “adopt” individual ducks for $5 by visiting www.DuckFestDerby.org.
Hosted by KID and presented by JM Family Enterprises Inc. and supported by AT&T, SunTrust, Wiring.com, NCL, Mike Sipe Entertainment, Allied Roofing; Searcy, Denney, Scarola, Barnhart and Shipley; and Cartaya & Associate, Architects the KID Duck Fest Derby offers a full day of free family activities including the KID Olympics, face painting, bounce houses, food truck fare, and carnival games.
At 3 p.m. the 30,000 rubber ducks will make their way along the New River as they jockey for position to win the $10,000 Grand Prize. Other prizes include a luxury timepiece donated by Carroll’s Jewelers, a Grande Oaks Golf Club foresome of golf, amazing gift baskets, and more.
Dollars raised at the KID Duck Fest Derby help fill the gap in funding and grants, expand the capacity of community programs, and provide aide to more than 10,000 children and families annually.
